BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management

BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is a 6-month on-the- job training program which involves workplace-based training and assessment. This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts. They will be provided with leadership and support and will have responsibility for their own performance as an individual and also as leaders, for organizing and monitoring the output of their team.

Program Outline

Training is delivered as a workplace-based delivery combined with self-paced learning (we recommend 5-6 hours per week) and will regularly be visited by a workplace trainer who will collect workplace evidence as a student progresses throughout the course in a minimum of once a month. Trainees will undergo written learning activities that will reinforce their theoretical knowledge and skills will be practiced in the workplace. The units of competency are sequenced in a way that allows a logical progression.

Duration: 6 months

( Ausphin Institute can support participants that need additional time. Alternatively, participants who have pre-existing skills and knowledge may be able to complete the course in a shorter duration. )

Units of Competency

To be issued the qualification BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management a student must be assessed as competent in 12 units of competency. These units of competency are comprised of 4 core units and 8 elective units. 

National Recognition

Competencies are drawn from the nationally endorsed industry training package, the Business Service Training Package (BSB). The qualification and units of competency are nationally recognized which will provide individuals with a valuable qualification that can be applied throughout Australia and the wider community services industry.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applicants can apply for recognition of their relevant existing skills and knowledge, which may have been obtained through workplace training. This may reduce the required number of units during the program. Students are encouraged to notify Ausphin Institute of their interest to apply for RPL, prior to their enrollment.


These are the minimum criteria set by Ausphin International Institute.

Aged 18 years or over

Have suitable language, literacy and numeracy skills to understand learning materials and perform tasks in a business environment

Currently employed or will be employed within the business services industry on the commencement of this course

Ausphin Institute can refer students who have more support needs to a specialist development provider who can assist them to improve their language, literacy and numeracy skills, to enable them to suitably commence the course.
